Last month we released LabArchives Inventory. If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s what you need to know:

Toggle between inventory and notebook
We’ve added a new button to the LabArchives header which allows you to quickly toggle between your LabArchives notebook and inventory. Use the two tools together to locate what you need for experimentation, to record methods, materials and results and to track what you’ve used, produced and need to order.
Duplicate inventory type
You’ll need to define ‘inventory types’ for your lab – these are broad categories that encompass what you frequently use/make. Someone working in a physics optics lab, for example, might add inventory types such as lenses, lasers and clamps. A virologist, meanwhile, might add recombinant viruses, plasmids and cell lines. Whatever your inventory types may be you can now duplicate them to avoid retyping field details.
SITE ADmin reports
If you’re a lab manager (o someone who is just generally in charge) you can now generate detailed user and inventory reports to keep tabs on who is doing what, when and with what materials.
