Easily Record Notes and Data

Document your research with an intuitive interface designed for scientists

Customize Page Layouts

Format your notebooks and organize data to suit you with headings, text, tables, and internal and external links.

Ensure consistency by setting default formatting for your team.

Easily Import and Preview Attachments

Drag and drop any file to quickly add to a page.

Notebooks show previews of files, with a carousel view for multi-page PDFs or slide decks.

Draw Chemical Reactions

The Chemical Sketcher widget is a simple and easy way to draw a chemical structure, reaction, or scheme.

Embed Images

Attach, embed or link to images in your notebook to store results and figures alongside your notes.

Annotate Images and Draw Diagrams

The Image Annotator can be used to quickly circle certain parts of a diagram or add text to an image.

Use the sketch tool to create diagrams, flowcharts and drawings using freehand sketching and shapes.

Embed Videos

Embed media, such as YouTube videos, directly into the Rich Text entry so that the video can be viewed without leaving LabArchives.

Add Math Equations

Add equations to a rich text entry by using the Insert Math tool or using the mathematical equation entry type.

Find and Track Your Data and Entries

Keep on top of your data with easy linking, searching, saving, and tracking of changes

Link Notebook Entries

Link an entry in your notebook to other entries, pages, or external websites.

Use links to refer to previous experiments, supplementary data or specific protocols to ensure the reproducibility of your experiments.

Tag Entries to Improve Search

Tagging your experiments and entries adds metadata into your lab notebook and improves search results.

Create custom tags or choose from a library of pre-existing tags.

Search Data, Notes, and Chemical Structures

Quickly find your past experiments and notes without sifting through countless documents.

Search multiple notebooks at once and scan text within attached files and metadata.

Comments and Mentions

Comments are used to record notes and can be deleted at any time without it being logged in the revision history.

Users mentioned in a comment will be alerted by email and by LabArchives notification.

Auto Save

LabArchives will automatically save your work after 5 seconds of inactivity to ensure you never lose your data.

Timestamps

A timestamp is automatically added to the right side of every entry indicating the time of the most recent change.

This timestamp is generated by a trusted global time source and cannot be altered.

Revision History

LabArchives stores every edit made with a timestamp, the action taken, the name of the user to make the change, and the IP address of the user.

You can view previous versions of an entry or page and revert to a previous version.

Built-In Widgets

Enhance your experience with calculators, chemical sketchers and forms, or build your own custom tools

What Are Widgets?

Widgets are customizable, interactive HTML forms or applications, which can be added as an entry to a page and edited by users of the notebook.

Build Custom Tools

Widgets can be customized and contain interactive text boxes, buttons, check boxes, tables, drop-down menus, and more.

Create Your Own Forms

Create standardized forms for clinical intake, protocols, checklists and more to ensure everyone captures the required information the same way.

Stoichiometry Tables

Use the Chemical Sketcher widget to create a stoichiometry table to quickly calculate multiple parameters of the drawn reaction.

Molarity Calculators

Easily calculate molarity using built-in calculators for Buffers, Acid and Base, Molecular Weight, and Dilution.

Yield Calculators

Calculate yield using built-in calculators for bacterial growth, PCR, DNA-RNA and more.

Google Calendar

The Google Calendar widget allows you to incorporate your Google Calendar anywhere within your notebook.

Extend Functionality with Integrations

Integrate external applications with LabArchives to streamline your workflows and improve productivity
