Mission
The purpose of the development grant is to provide financial support to Principal Investigators in their management of research data, collaboration with other investigators, as well as to obtain feedback on the use of LabArchives Professional Edition during a 3-year period. This LabArchives 3-year user group study will allow for improvements based on real world lab feedback through the biannual (every 6-months) report submission process.

Grant Making Priorities
In accordance with the grant committee’s direction, preference may be given for grants for the following organizations and purposes:
- University Lab Organizations
- Internet 2 Net+ University Partners
- Non-Profit Organizations
Average Grant Value
- Full Grant Valued: $3,300 per year ($9,900 total) based on a 10 user lab maximum.
- Estimated Average Grant Size: $9,940 to $14,910 (depending on lab user size)
- Estimated Average Number of Grants Per Year: 30
- Estimated Average Total Giving Per Year: $298,200
Application Period and Deadlines
Applications are accepted year-round. Applications must be submitted by August 1 / November 1 / February 1 / May 1 to be reviewed at the next quarterly grant meeting that occurs each quarter.
Communications
Applicants will receive an automated email confirming their submission. Grant decisions are generally communicated within 60-day of quarterly deadline after quarterly grant committee meeting has been concluded.
Required Agreements and Reports
Except as otherwise specified when a grant is awarded, an initial 60-minute ELN training by LabArchives Support Staff for the entire lab must be completed within 2-3 weeks from grant award prior to ELN rollout, with biannual progress reports being submitted every 6-months from training date.
